How to make a live stream on the site with your own hands

If you want to have on the site not a dry stream but running water - make a little effort and get a "miracle" created by yourself, giving coolness and freshness on a hot day.

What you need to create a water creek

To create a live stream on the site you need to attach your imagination, determine the location of the future source and start working:

-Draw a plan for the movement of water along the site, for this purpose to find the highest place on the site (this will be the beginning of the stream) and the lowest place (this is the end of the stream);

- Using a cord on the ground, lay out the trajectory of the movement of water;

-measure the length of the future brook;

-measure the width of the future brook, add to it 20% for padding edges;

-Calculate the area of the future brook (in accordance with this area, adding to it 20% to purchase geomaterials, now sell geomembrane on STCgeo);

- buy PVC hose equal to the length of the stream + 20%;

-buy a pump (the capacity of which will depend on the volume of circulating water);

-buy two plastic containers.

Preparing the future channel of the stream

Once you have decided on the location of your pond, you can begin work on the preparation of the channel.

For a small garden there is enough a stream 25-30 cm deep, not more than 1 meter wide.

After excavation work on the excavation, remove all roots and stones (so they do not spoil the geomaterial), make work to create a pillow of sand, all well pound.

Create a channel of beautiful complex shape, especially in our time, the stream can be decorated with decorative elements in the form of arches, bridges, stone waterfalls.

The thickness of the pillow should be at least 25-30 cm (ie the depth of the stream should be at least 60 cm).

On the pillow lay the geomaterial, from the side lay under the geomaterial polychlorvinyl hose or plastic pipe from the top of the stream to the bottom point.

Geomaterial on the sides fix with pebbles or large stones, on the bottom lay small stones or pebbles.

Installation of tanks in the upper and lower part of the stream

The stream assumes the presence of water, and the water should be in the tanks.

To hide the reservoirs, it is necessary to dig pits at the top and bottom of the stream, in accordance with the size of the water storage tanks.

One container is buried in the upper part of the stream, and the other in the lower part.

To the lower tank we connect the pump for water supply, with the help of a hose, the water is pumped to the upper tank by the pump, from the top the water goes down by gravity.

Creek decoration

The side walls of the stream can be lined with a stone bun.

On the banks of the stream you need to plant plants that love water.

Very beautiful look water irises, hosts, etc.

The scheme of the flower bed around the creek: 1 - bamboo leaves, 2 - hybrids of iris bearded, 3 - lobelia, 4 - creeping vine, 5 - bell of the Doskhari, 6 - hybrids of the shores, 7 - large bruner, 8 - bryozoa, 9 - redwood, 10 - arundo.

To protect, especially children, it is necessary to ground all electrical parts, to provide for the shutdown of the pump in case of overflow of the channel with water.

It would be nice to filter out water with a filter.

Filtered water will not allow to pollute the creek with lime and rust, this water will less bloom in the heat.

In modern conditions, for the purification of water from algae, special biofilters are used.

The simplest filter is a plastic mesh with a shallow cell, on which there is a river pebble.

Only your initiative and personal taste can create a unique atmosphere and a beautiful design on your site.
