What is polycarbonate
Polycarbonate is an artificial material having a top and a bottom smooth, but is connected together by means of sections in the form of honeycombs (like honeycombs).
The presence of air in this space allows for a long time to retain heat, i.e. even at low minus temperatures, in a room created from polycarbonate, heat is stored, which is accumulated during the daytime.
The plastic from which the pyrocarbonate consists is sufficiently transparent. In addition, this material is stronger than glass. And in comparison with a polyethylene film which is necessary on a greenhouse to change annually, plastic can serve till 10 years.
When buying polycarbonate for a greenhouse, it is necessary to pay attention to the thickness and weight of the polycarbonate sheet. To keep the greenhouse long, the thickness of the polycarbonate sheet should be at least 4 mm, and the weight of the sheet - not less than 10 kg (with a sheet size of 600х210 cm).
We make the foundation under the greenhouse
After choosing a sunny place, we begin laying the foundation.
If you make a foundation of a bar, its cross-section must be at least 100x100 mm. According to the developed scheme, marking is done. The beam can rest on brick posts, small reinforced concrete blocks or a pile foundation. If you stopped on the foundation of the bar, the bar should be treated with an antiseptic compound, this compound will protect the tree from rot. The foundation of a brick or reinforced concrete blocks, in comparison with a tree, will be more durable. For any foundation, according to markings, a deepening along the perimeter is made to a depth of 10 cm. A cement-sand pillow is created, which fills the dug hole all the way deep, the pillow is carefully packed.
On the pillow make a brickwork with mortar, the height of the foundation depends on the weight of the putative greenhouse, in ordinary life, the most common greenhouse with a size of 300x600 cm. - For such a greenhouse, a foundation height of about 20 cm (three rows of bricks) is quite suitable.
For any foundation, for a greenhouse frame, it is necessary to mount it in the foundation of the fastening. In the form of fastening, it is possible to use reinforcement, metal corners, etc.
To the fasteners, in the future, the frame of the greenhouse is welded.
If the foundation in the form of a wooden beam - fastening is done with the help of screws or nails.
We make a frame for a greenhouse made of polycarbonate

For the frame it is good to use a metal profile pipe with a size of 20x40x2 mm, and a metal corner can be used. If a profile pipe is used, a welding machine is absolutely essential for connecting the parts. If you use a metal corner, you can splice together with bolts. To work, you need a tool:

To create stiffness, the step between the sections of the greenhouse, it is desirable to do not more than 50 cm.
Cover the greenhouse with polycarbonate
After manufacturing the metal sections of the future greenhouse, we attach them to the foundation. We will make, if necessary, cutting a sheet of polycarbonate.
Using special thermowells, we attach polycarbonate sheets to the metal profile.
Polycarbonate sheets, to prevent the penetration of cold air into the greenhouse, are superimposed on the skeleton.
The joint is sealed with an aluminum self-adhesive tape outside the greenhouse.
On the inside of the greenhouse, it is necessary to close the joints with a special perforated tape.
The above tape will provide a drain of condensate and will not allow a draft and dust to appear in the greenhouse. With the help of nuts and bolts, it is necessary to make the belt tension.
