Types of linoleum - choose correctly
For living rooms use the following types of linoleum:
• domestic, a thickness of 1.5 to 3.5 mm with a protective layer of 0.1-0.3 mm
• semi-commercial, a thickness of 2.8 to 3.7 mm and a protective layer of up to 0.5 mm
• commercial, a thickness of more than 3.7 mm and a protective layer from 0.6 to 0.8 mm.
More information about the type of linoleum is in the labeling of the strength class. Let's remind, that a linoleum of a class of durability of 21 low loading is preferable to stack in bedrooms and offices without an adhesive way for the area of a premise up to 20 sq.m. Linoleum class strength 22 is designed for medium loads of living room and nursery.

Buy linoleum is preferable in heated shops. In such an environment, there is nothing to prevent the quality of the coating in natural conditions. The best material is considered high-density linoleum, which provides industrial production and PVC concentration. Ways of laying linoleum
New ways of laying linoleum until no one invented. There are some ways of laying a floor covering:
• free laying on the prepared base with subsequent fixation of the edges with plinths
• using water-based mastics
• Placing the sheet on the adhesive tape.
The choice of method before laying linoleum should be justified by the quality (thickness) of linoleum and the area of the flooring, as well as the conditions for the upcoming operation of the floor covering. Linoleum is spread on plywood, concrete or wooden base. It is recommended that linoleum is not laid on the old linoleum.

• completely free the laying area
• prepare the working surface of the surface
• prepare a special working tool and, if necessary, a glue compound.
The simplest and least costly method is the free laying of linoleum coating on the base.

Work with linoleum - cutting and cutting will require the use of a special tool. These are knives and scissors with replaceable steel blades. Let's say that for the marking you will need blades with trapezoid-shaped blades, for cutting off hook-shaped blades, and for the edge processing use a wall-marker. The tool should be well sharpened and equipped with a comfortable handle.
The method of installation and selection of adhesive mastic depends on the group of linoleum, which is divided into rubber, glyptal, PVC and colloxylin types.
glueless way of laying
The glueless method is preferred for laying linoleum on a concrete floor primed with a deep penetration primer and reinforced with a thin 2-4 mm cement-sand screed and laying linoleum on the substrate.
If you plan to lay the linen on the substrate, then initially cut the substrate and its placement, with subsequent bonding of joints with construction tape, and then sheets of cloth.
The styling stages will be the following:
• roll out the roll of the floor covering and leave it in the unfolded state
• produce marking and positioning of the coating sheet according to the preliminary dimensions
• We produce cutting sheets to walls and doorways.
The roll sheet is rolled from one wall to the other and the edge is left for cutting under the skirting board.

Adhesive way of laying will be justified for homogeneous with a homogeneous layer and heterogeneous with a refined base of types of coating when laying linoleum on a wooden floor. The algorithm of the method is similar to the glueless one with the difference in the application of the adhesive solution - water-based mastics during the laying process.
The day before the beginning of laying, the back side of the sheet of the coating is ground and allowed to dry, and then the sheets of plywood are laid back.
The adhesive solution is applied by a spatula directly onto the floor base and spread over the coating sheet. It is preferable to work with small areas of glue application. The linoleum, spread out on the glue, is carefully smoothed, removing the air and pressing firmly.
For this, heavy rollers are used, by which the deposited coating fragment is rolled.
The final stage of the adhesive process is the cutting of sheets to the walls.
