The actively developing construction industry is based on the achievements of leading driving factors. This is a large-scale and widespread introduction of innovative technologies and material. A bright and recognized leader in the sector of erection of metal structures are sandwich panels. Wall sandwich panels, roofing sandwich panels - all this can now be ordered or bought ready-made. Popular, for the manufacture and sale, have become online stores, for example http://mg-msk.ru/catalog/send-paneli. Creating a roof now becomes a quick and affordable occupation.

What is a roofing sandwich panel
Roof sandwich panels are multilayer coatings with non-ventilated properties. Structurally, such panels consist of two-, three-layer sheets of 0.5 mm cold-rolled galvanized, which are protected from outside with a polymer material.
The main application of sandwich panels is the installation of roofs of buildings, private houses and cottages. Therefore, roofing panels of this type are used for roofing with a slope angle of at least 5%.
As a heat-insulating material between steel sheets, polyurethane, expanded polystyrene and mineral wool are used.
The most common are panels with filler of heat-insulating core - polystyrene foam (density up to 25 kg / m3) and mineral wool (density up to 140 kg / m3). Modern roofing of sandwich panels has:
• Attractive appearance
• Insignificant load on the underlying load-bearing structures
• Easy operation, resulting in high durability.
Roof sandwich panels easily differ by the memorable trapezoidal corrugations located on the upper plate. Structural trapezoidal slats are made of the same material as the cavities forming the profile of the lining.
Technical characteristics of roofing sandwich panels
Roof sandwich panels, the characteristics of which are regulated, can be conditionally denoted by such working parameters: length, width and thickness.
The thickness of the panel, in turn, is the main one in determining the specific thermal conductivity and the materials of the lining and insulation. Of course, the technical specification also includes the organization of joint sealing systems.
Roof panels have the following technical characteristics:
• weight per square meter, kg
• resistance to the heat transfer of the roof
• soundproofing, dB
• Fire resistance, min
• mounting width, mm
• length (min-max), mm.
The weight of the roofing sandwich panel depends on the filler, therefore, in panels with polystyrene foam, the specific gravity reaches up to 21.1 kg / m3, and for panels with mineral wool filler up to 36 kg / m3.
Scales of dimensions of roofing sandwich panels can have the following values:
• The thickness of the roof panel: from 50 to 350 mm.
• width: 1 m.
• length: from 2 to 12 meters.
From the numerical values of the technical characteristics of sandwich panels, it can be concluded that due to the simplicity of construction and the material of manufacture, the panels have a significant margin of safety. Insignificant weight of panels, on the contrary, allows to minimize expenses for transportation, and also loading-unloading and installation of a roof.
Preparatory work for roofing
The construction and erection of the roof of sandwich panels requires special preparatory work. Preliminary it is necessary to obtain the permit documentation for installation and check the compliance of the existing roof slope with design data and calculated parameters.
The design documentation for the roof construction should include:
• Explanatory note with the technological scheme of installation
• Layout of panels on the roof, indicating the size and number of panels
• Specification for fastening and connecting elements with their arrangement
• working drawings of roof panels.
It is necessary to think over ways of lifting and delivering sandwich panels to the roof. For this purpose, load-lifting special equipment equipped with vacuum grippers is used.
The type of fasteners (self-tapping screws), as well as their estimated number and the location of future fastening, are indicated in the design documentation. The type of screws should correspond to the type of sandwich panels, taking into account the coefficient of wind load.
The technology of installation and erection of the roof provides for the creation of a ridge.
Skate device
The top of the roof of the sandwich panels is radically different from the ridge of the usual roofs. After the panels are laid on the slope, the inner ridge of the ridge is made. For this, the free space visible between the panels is filled with a mounting foam. After the hardening of the foam layer, the surplus is cut off and the pads that create the profile are laid.
On these gaskets, the panels are fastened to the aft strip. The prikonkovaya lath is attached to the adhesive base of the gasket, then the finishing (skate) plank is laid. The process of skating requires careful attention, because the quality of the assembly of the panels will depend on the quality of the device and the fastening of the ridge. At the stage of the skate device, work is carried out to remove water from the roof and finish the overhangs.
Installation of sandwich panels of roofing
The installation of roof panels is different from the installation of other structures. Before laying the panels on the underside, the protective film is removed. Installation of the first panel begins with the installation and attachment to the rafters near the ridge. The hump can be technologically made of concrete or metal.
There is a rule that all subsequent panels must be attached only to purlins, but not to the ridge. To create the best sealing in the lock of the panel with a notch, sealant is applied. It is recommended to use it when docking panels with grips, which will help to avoid distortion and deformation of locks.
Laying the end elements and fixing the panels to the runs. In this case, the screws are screwed into the projecting wave of the panel part. The connecting elements must be docked at a right angle, excluding the formation or appearance of distortions.
Fastening of sandwich panels of roofing
To fix the roofing panels use special self-drilling screws. Preference is best given to self-drilling screws made of stainless or carbon steel with a diameter of 5.5 (6.3) mm, equipped with sealing washers made of synthetic rubber (EPDM).
The length of the fastening screws is chosen depending on the thickness of the panels. When attaching sandwich panels to roofing, due attention should be given to tightening self-drilling screws, which should exclude the appearance of dents on the surface.
Fastening of panels is carried out with the use of a screwdriver and an electric drill in the upper part of a wave of a trapezoidal corrugation.
