Infrared sauna in a modern apartment, how to do it legally, an infrared sauna with your own hands

Infrared sauna can rightly be called one of the most effective and useful inventions of this kind. Its medicinal properties people have been using for about half a century. It is not only possible to install it in a modern apartment, but it is also necessary - in fact, as you know, they do not save on health. And such a wonderful thing, like an infrared sauna, is undoubtedly worth the money that its acquisition and installation will cost.

  Infrared sauna in the apartment - installation features and price

In order to install an infrared sauna in the apartment, you need to obtain permission from the relevant authorities - the fire department, as well as BTI (regarding the redevelopment of the apartment in connection with the installation of the sauna). All this must be done at least for our own safety, as well as to avoid unnecessary fines on the part of the controlling bodies.

To install an infrared sauna in an apartment, you must follow certain rules, for example:

it is desirable that the sauna is located near the shower;

the room in which the sauna is installed should be twice as large as the sauna itself;

between the ceiling of the room in which the sauna is installed and its ceiling, there should be a distance of approximately 10 cm, but if a steam generator is used, the distance increases by another 10 cm (that is, a total of at least 20 cm);

between the room in which the infrared sauna is located and the sauna cabin should be approximately 5 cm of free space;

The cost of an infrared sauna can be 1000, or maybe 10,000 dollars - it all depends on what requirements you put forward. For example, such a sauna, if it is made on an individual order, costs an order of magnitude more expensive than a standard one, which can be purchased at the corresponding store. Infrared saunas, whose cabins are designed for a simultaneous session with the participation of more than 6 people (maybe even up to 12), are made to order. Also the price will vary from what types of wood are used in its manufacture. For example, the oak will definitely cost more than pine.

Benefits and harm of infrared sauna

The benefit of an infrared sauna is its properties. Infrared radiation can warm a person from within. That is, if you are heated from above when you visit an ordinary sauna, then inside when you visit the infrared. With the warming up of internal organs in the human body, there are many useful processes, for example, the saturation of the tissues of the body with oxygen. This property can be indispensable for people involved in sports and watching their figure. Visiting such a sauna before training, a person will warm up muscles, and sports will be more effective. Also, warming up the internal organs speeds up the metabolism.

However, not for everyone, such intense deep warming up of the body can be useful. There are also contraindications when visiting an infrared sauna. For example, the cores to which a visit to an ordinary sauna is absolutely contraindicated (including due to the high temperature in it), it is worth consulting with a doctor about visiting an infrared sauna about contraindications. Perhaps, the doctor will allow periodic visits to the infrared sauna. Warming of internal organs leads to accelerated circulation of lymph, and this gives rise to protective functions of the body and strong immunity, which contributes to the prevention of many diseases. When visiting an infrared sauna at a temperature of 40-50 ° C, pain in the hip joint, pain during menstruation, as well as some skin diseases: neurodermatitis, infectious eczema. Also, treatment in an infrared sauna is effective in treating postoperative infections. Sauna helps with diarrhea and cholecystitis, with neurasthenia, pneumonia, it is effective in frostbite, during the treatment of pain in muscles and joints for various diseases, as well as cramps, arthritis, pain in the upper shoulder girdle, rheumatism and radiculitis. In general, the infrared sauna is undoubtedly safer and more useful for preventive and curative purposes than the usual one.

Infrared sauna with own hands

So, you decided to build an infrared sauna in an apartment on your own. This is a very real idea and we will try to make this task easier for you.

The very frame of the cabin of an infrared sauna is usually made from well-wood of coniferous trees such as spruce, pine or cedar. This is necessary to ensure the stability of the entire structure and reliability in the problem-free operation of the sauna for many years.

Proceeding from the fact that the infrared sauna is usually designed for individual procedures for one or two people, when designing it, the following data is used:

height - from 180 to 200 centimeters

the length of the sauna cabin is from 120 to 210 centimeters;

depth within 110-115 centimeters;

As in the infrared sauna, unlike the ordinary sauna, the temperature does not rise above 40-50 degrees, it is possible to use ordinary interior doors, sealed to avoid drafts.

In the infrared sauna, no special ventilation is required, since steam does not form in its cabin and there is no high temperature. Sufficient will be to make a small hole in the cabin wall, close it with a grid with a latch, for natural ventilation. If there is no possibility (or skills) to make such a hole, then an even easier way of venting is to open the doors of the sauna booth for a while.

For lighting inside the cabin, saunas are usually installed on the ceiling of a regular lampshade. The following requirements are imposed on wiring: thorough double insulation of wires, for a voltage in the network of at least 400 V and a current strength of at least 15 A, the length is usually about 30 meters.

An important point in the process of building an infrared sauna in the apartment is the selection of an infrared heater for the sauna and its correct installation in an infrared cabin. When choosing an infrared heater, it is first of all necessary to pay attention to the manufacturer's company, then to its dimensions, and then to the ceramic coating of the heating element of the sauna heater, to the maximum length of infrared radiation, and to the material from which the device is made. Also important is the quality coating of the protective grate, the possibilities of various installation options (in the corner of the sauna, in the wall), the amount of energy consumed and the output power of the heater.

Infrared heaters should be located in such a way that a single field of infrared radiation is created in the cabin and the body is evenly heated. Heaters are best designed vertically, as in a booth people usually occupy a sitting position. Usually five ceramic heaters are used, two - in the back wall, two - in the corners and at the entrance, one - horizontally under the bench in order to warm up the legs.

Between the infrared elements of the cabin the distance should be not less than 55-60 centimeters. All heating devices in the cabin have a height of 10-12 centimeters from the canopy, except for the infrared element in the legs, mounted in the side skin of the canopy, overhanging over the heater by not more than two centimeters. Front heaters are located at the front of the infrared cabin at an angle of 45 degrees, which makes it possible for heat waves to move to the middle of the infrared cabin and provide a warm and health effect.

We hope that this article will be useful for everyone who wants to install an infrared sauna with their own hands in their own apartment.
