Residential wooden buildings to this day are very relevant, their popularity calls for the constant improvement of technologies of this type of construction. One of the latest innovations is rightly considered the use of a burned tree in the interior. No matter how absurd it may sound, this kind of material has its fans and is very successful in gaining popularity.

Burned wood, material advantages
The domestic consumer has recently started acquaintance with this kind of technology, and in Europe, it has been a great success for a long time and occupies the first places in the rating of materials for construction and use in creating a modern and unusual interior.
The advantages of a burned tree include:
- the possibility of self-firing without the need to refer to specialists,
- a high degree of fire safety (repeated ignition of the tree is almost impossible, except with gasoline or with repeated attempts to fire)
- absence of a favorable environment for the reproduction of insects and fungi,
- high degree of hygroscopicity.
What is the procedure for firing, types of firing
The firing of wood can be divided into three main types: superficial, deep and full.
Full firing is only done in vacuum furnaces at temperatures reaching +400 ° C. The use of such material is rare enough because, although wood is not susceptible to external influences, but after exposure to such a high temperature, it loses its strength.
Deep firing is done in open-type furnaces, a certain amount of time, then, extinguish with water. With this type of firing, the upper 1 -2 cm is allowed to burn out. The wood material does not lose its strength, resistance to ignition and other factors after such actions. The only nuance is not a particularly attractive texture of the material. It is this factor that reduces the frequency of use.
The most popular is a tree that has gone through a superficial burning. This type of firing is done with a soldering lamp or a burner. Burning of the upper layer should be uniform and not exceed 0.5 cm. After firing, the material is ground. The final result is durable and durable, the texture of the tree is well seen and shaded with a dark color.
Art material from the burnt tree
Products made of wood, as well as wooden material for construction or decoration, can not only be painted with varnish or paints, but also treated with fire. For example, if the fire does not last for a long time at a temperature not exceeding 800 ° C, the top layer of the tree is painted in light brown or golden-yellow shades. For such firing, it is better to use finished products or boards made of hard and softwood.
In cases where the construction is done on its own and there are desires to decorate anything wooden, the firing can be carried out with the help of a burner or a soldering lamp. It is much more convenient to burn a tree with a gas-fired burner, because this is how you can achieve the highest possible quality of work.
Work with the burner requires accuracy and caution, so it makes sense to apply to the management service of "Gorgaz" and go there for an appropriate briefing, after which you get a permit with permission to work with this equipment.
At the same time, it is necessary to hand over the burner for inspection to the appropriate authority and carefully read the rules for its use.
How to make a roast of a tree yourself
The firing process is quite simple. First of all, you need to prepare the material. The surface on which the finish is supposed to be made must be made clean, dry and smooth. Particular attention should be paid to the lack of moisture on the surface. If there is insufficient drying and under the influence of high temperature, the wood can become covered with streaks and stains and thereby reduce the quality of the work. The best option for similar work will be a tree that has only been processed and has not managed to change its natural coloring and drawing. In another case, experts recommend that the material be re-cut.
Materials suitable for finishing with firing are finished with putty and linseed oil. Under the influence of high temperature, such materials will show dirty spots, the natural texture of the tree will not be visible. Before starting the firing, the burner should be adjusted with a gate and make the torch oblong in a bluish color. If an uneven, yellowish flame emerges from the burner, then there are a lot of soot in it. It should be remembered that only the tip of the flame has the highest temperature. Experts advise to test the work of the burner on unnecessary cropped pieces of wood and thus in addition to acquire certain skills.
Before the start of firing it is necessary to protect all the fragments of the decor that are not subject to this procedure: adjacent wallpapers, adjacent structures, glass and so on. This can be done with a sheet of tin or its fragments.
The burning of the tree begins to be performed from the top, slowly moving to the bottom. Movements in this case should resemble brush strokes when staining. In cases where gaps occur during firing, an additional firing occurs. The scorched places can be leveled with the help of stripping or sanding. At the end of work with fire, the wooden surface must be gently and carefully wiped with a clean and dry cloth or cotton cloth.
With a view to fire safety, before starting the firing, it is necessary to have a brush and a bucket filled with water at hand to spray the wood material in cases of need.
The material after firing is recommended to be covered with a colorless varnish. Treated in this way, the decor of wood will have a finished appearance and reliable protection against atmospheric influences.
To complete the decor of the fired products and intended to be used in the interior of the room, nitrocellulose varnishes must be used. For facade (external) burnt fragments, varnish with high resistance to atmospheric influences, pentaphthalic or glyptal varnish, is suitable. On the burnt surface, they should be applied in several layers.
Decoration of a burnt tree
If you want to give the burnt tree a more interesting look, it can be slightly shaded with an aniline dye designed for woodworking before applying the varnish.
If there is a desire to make a matte finish, then it is worth adding a waxy substance to the lacquer. Wax is better to use technical, because natural, for example bees, can give stickiness. Before adding wax to the varnish, it should be dissolved in a slightly warmed turpentine.
The tree that passed the fire burning and varnished gets an unusual, beautiful appearance, and also acquires durability. Finishing of this kind will please tenants: in the house - not less than 10 years, on the facade of the building - at least 5 years.
Furniture from burnt wood
An ordinary chest of drawers made of pine decorate is not an ordinary way - for example, burn.
For this decoration you will need:
- chest of pine
- gas-burner
- a grinding machine with a disc and a metal brush
- acrylic paint and brush
- the required number of handles patined with bronze.
First of all, we burn the surface of the chest with a gas burner. This kind of decor of products is most often used in the design of trendy cafes and restaurants, as well as country holiday homes. Usually, the final chord is the coating of the burnt surface with varnish, but in this example another finish of the work is described.
After roasting, it is necessary to perform work on cleaning the burning with a grinder with an iron brush. The pine texture has soft and hard fibers, the brush will clean the soft part and at the expense of it an attractive relief pattern will be obtained.
Now you need to remove the dust and apply acrylic paint. As an alternative, you can use both latex and water-based paint. The color can be chosen any, but to the tree of this breed, the most suitable is the color of ivory. The paint should be applied in the direction of the fibers. Only with such application there is a guarantee that the relief parts will color well.
After a certain time, when the paint is thoroughly absorbed and dried, the grinder will again be needed. With its help you need to clean the surface. Thus, the applied paint will remain only in the recesses. Grinding should be carried out as carefully and delicately as possible in order to show only a wooden structure.
The final stage is the fastening of the handles to the chest of drawers. Handles made of bronze and tinted patina - this is the most successful option for such a self-made, pine chest decor.
