Where does the ceiling begin or "Thank you" to the Romans
The appearance of stretch ceilings, we owe the ancient Romans, who stretched the impregnated fabric as an ornament of the ceiling. The further distribution of the first ceilings took a large-scale character and safely moved to European countries. Having finally reached the snow-covered expanses of our homeland, the phenomenon of "stretch ceilings" won favoritism and respect. Who are they, these mysterious bright films and glossy materials, what are they made of and how to strengthen them?
Types of stretch ceilings
Today there are two main types of tension coatings:
• fabric seamless
• from vinyl PVC film.
Textile (fabric) stretch ceilings are a polyester filament. Knitted type of weaving impregnated with a mixture of polymer - polyurethane. Fabric fabric has a seamless configuration and has a width of up to 5 m. Such a fabric does not need additional processing or a temperature regime: it was bought and can already be mounted on a baguette.
Stretch ceilings made of vinyl PVC film are manufactured in an industrial way by welding strips on HDTV machines. The film strips can have a fixed width of 1.5 to 5 m. During installation, the web of this type of coating is heated to a considerable temperature, and the softened film is stretched and mounted on the already prepared profile - a baguette.

The forms of stretch ceilings are just as fabulous as the colors of the ceiling coating. In addition to the classical strict geometric form, stretch ceilings are:
• ceiling with level transition
• arched
• in the form of a dune
• Conical
• undulating.
A ceiling with a level transition is ideal for creating and delimiting ceiling space into zones. The number of smooth transitions and the use of bends and their combinations allows you to apply a variety of textures and colors.
Arched stretch ceiling, perhaps, the most creative form. There is the possibility of moving walls into the ceiling space or vice versa. The possibility of applying not only on one side allows creating and forming vaults.
The ceiling in the form of a dune gives an unusual appearance. A lot of variation in the size and quantity of dunes on the ceiling, like a long road, located above one interior zone, is a terrific sight.
The flightability of the cone-shaped and undulating shapes of the stretch ceiling allows the use of different textures and the contrast of colors.
These shapes are ideal for long and narrow spaces, shifting the emphasis in the design to the ceiling.

A distinctive feature of the texture of glossy stretch ceilings is their ability to mirror reflection. Mirror surface and reflection effect in combination with a variety of color colors make it possible to profitably and successfully use this type of ceilings. Due to the mirror surface, the living space of the room or room visually increases. The only downside - on the glossy ceilings noticeable seam line.
The classic version of the texture is a matte surface. Even with a light spot, the matte surface does not detract from the decorative elements of the interior. On matte ceilings there are no glare or reflections. Therefore, this type of texture will fully convey your favorite color in the chosen variety.
Satin ceilings have a smooth relief structure. Therefore, the light-reflecting properties are strengthened, and the ceiling acquires a characteristic nacreous shade.

The appearance of tensioned two-level ceilings made a furor and bombed all the canons of decorative components. Such ceilings are able to create additional levels, advantageously closing undesirable elements for viewing structures. The presence of several levels now allows you to effectively demarcate the space of the room, increasing or decreasing the tonality of the lighting.
For multi-level stretch ceilings, a correct and proportionate choice of material is necessary. Important is the development of lighting for any type of stretch ceiling.

Installation and attachment of stretch ceilings
Installation of stretch ceilings involves a technological and fairly simple installation of profiles and fasteners.
To install and fix tension ceilings, the main technologies are used. There are the following types of fastening:

• clip-on
• glazing bead.
The technology of installation and fixing is based on the tension of the web and its subsequent fixing in a special profile. Special profile for fastening (baguette) is different for existing types of ceiling coating. The profile is fixed along the perimeter to the ceiling or walls. Fixing elements are fundamentally different.
The harpoon type of attachment is used for PVC film ceilings. The fixing element - the harpoon fixes the edge of the film and is welded to the perimeter of the profile.
Clip clip is used to install exclusively fabric ceilings. For the fastening of the fabric ceiling, the latch principle and the features of the fabric base were involved. By the way, clip-type fastening involves the installation of specific fabric textures - Decor and Clipso.
The fabric base allows you to fix the clips and a durable plastic baguette. Plastic clip profile has no additional technological grooves.
For the glued (wedge) type of attachment, an aluminum profile of the U-shape is used. The shtapik in this case is used in the form of a wedge, which reliably fixes the canvas of any texture. Therefore, it is necessary to fix the glazing bead in the groove of the profile.
