Traditional bath ritual in Japan consists of a set of procedures, the sequence of which is strictly observed. The first dive is carried out in a barrel of furako, the second dive - in the capacity ofuro and all this on your yard at the envious sighs of neighbors.

Bad mood - go to the bath!
Good-natured wishes: "Go to the bathhouse" is always met with enthusiasm, anticipating the unique pleasure and bliss from the touch of affectionate warm water and invigorating steam. And it does not matter what kind of sauna to go: a traditional Russian, Finnish sauna or an unfamiliar Japanese.
Any Japanese bath ofuro or furako have a single philosophy, and carries a common semantic load. The healing effect and complete immersion in relaxation in Japanese baths are obtained by means of special diving tanks, heated wood chips and pebbles. Today, the Japanese sauna is still a rare species, successfully introduced only in large SPA centers.
But this is a temporary phenomenon, because the mass construction of such baths is not established, and the concept itself, like a Japanese bath, whose price is impressive, contradicts our mentality. However, we recall that the tradition of the New Year celebration that has fallen in love with the Japanese calendar will tell you the place of its next meeting. Do you know where exactly? Correctly! In a Japanese bath.
Japanese baths Hot tub: furako, ofuro and santo
Far-far, where Mount Fuji bathes in the morning in the rays of the rising sun, there are three sisters: Furaco, Ofuro and Sento. Sultry beauties are modest and attractive. The inner content of their souls is filled with the power of water and hidden energy. Slow Japanese and Japanese people know a lot about relaxation and do it in the baths expertly.
The central element of the Japanese bath is a container with heated water in the form of a barrel or a font.
In private Japanese bathhouses the most common are baths of the furako and ofuro type, and in the public baths of the santo, with the possibility of receiving a procedure by a significant number of people.
foieur bath
In the Japanese bath furako font, made of wood of cedar or larch, has the appearance of a barrel with benches, separated by a partition. In a smaller part of the container there is a heating element from a wood-burning oven. The principle of heating water is simple: a steel furnace heats water in the main part to a temperature of 45 degrees.
In a set of Japanese bath furako capacity (barrel round, oval or hexagonal shape), submerged furnace made of stainless steel and a siphon for draining the water.
bath ofuro
The bath ofuro is a low rectangular container filled with heated sawdust or pebbles. To produce a container, a thermal wood is used and an electric heating system is equipped. The construction is simple and accessible for construction on any private plot.
How can you build a Japanese bath with your own hands?
We build a Japanese bath
For the production of a domestic Japanese bath will require special wood, or rather slats of cedar, Karelian pine or larch thickness of 40 mm and a height of 250-300 mm. An excellent material can serve as a lining, treated with special thermo oil.
The height of the capacity of a bath of furak can reach 1-1.5 meters, and the diameter of the font to 2-2.5 m.
To build a tank, it is recommended to make a sketch with the dimensions and location of the parts of the font, including the inner benches and the location of the weir in the bottom.
What will be required to create a Japanese bath
The standard assembly of the home bath furako includes such elements:
• font, 1-1.5 m high, with the connection of laths in the european product, equipped on the outside with fastening hoops with stainless steel clips
• ready benches for internal placement in the font
• Wood-based submerged oven made of food grade stainless steel 304, 20 mm thick with lid
• chimney with an airfoil (umbrella) up to 2 m high from food grade stainless steel 304
• fence made of fissile material
• bottom with siphon and outlet to outside.
Assembly technology
The technology of manufacturing and assembling a barrel is based on traditional cooperative technology.
assembling of carcass elements (riveting)
From the elements of the frame (riveting), they collect the barrel and fix the rivets from the outside with hoops. The number of rivets is pre-calculated based on the diameter of the intended capacity. Then rivets are prepared by bending to create the necessary configuration of the barrel circle.
Let's say, the larger the diameter of the container, the less effort is required to create the radius of the bending of the wooden plate and it will be easier to assemble the container. The rivets of the barrels must be butt (tongue-and-groove). The tongue will ensure tightness and preserve the natural respiration of the wood. Rivets are gathered around the perimeter of a small hoop.
For this purpose, it is recommended to use clamps. In the Euro lining, this need disappears, because the assembly is carried out by docking the "spike-groove".
installation of fixing hoops and the bottom of the tank
After assembling the entire diameter of the future container, the hoop is pushed to the middle of the rivet - to the center. Then the bottom of the riveting is heated for 20 minutes and placed inside a large hoop.
Such an installation is made on a flat and smooth surface, eliminating distortion and possible deformation. Strong twine tighten the resulting structure until the rivets do not come together butt. Now put on a small hoop.
The assembled frame of the barrel is leveled. Then the lower ring is loosened and the bottom of the tank is installed with a prepared and installed siphon. The lower hoop is returned to its original position. The container, if necessary, is ground and processed from the inside and outside by thermal oil (linseed oil), followed by coating with wax.
Hoops for the tank are made of strips of hot-rolled instrumental steel 30 mm thick. The band is bent on the pipe bender to the required radius of bending. At the ends of the band-hoop, drill holes and install a lock. The collected capacity outside is made out burnt on a tree ornament or stylized painting. For convenience of visiting baths establish a convenient ladder or build a podium.
To install a furaco bath you need a prepared solid foundation, because the weight of the wooden structure with water is considerable. You can place baths anywhere in the backyard or a private house, while thinking about the convenience of water supply and its discharge.
To drain water from the tank use a siphon for the shower tray or bathtub, equipped with a mesh for garbage and a retrievable siphon liner. The choice of connection should be standard, for example, for a capacity of Q = 0.9 l / s - DN50.
install a submersible hot water stove
For Japanese baths it is preferable to use wood submersible stoves with a lid made of food stainless steel 304 with a wall thickness of 20 mm. The furnace can be purchased ready-made or welded from steel sheets according to the rules for assembling wood-burning stoves.
The fuel is supplied to the hot-water furnace from above. The water in the barrel is heated by contact of the internal part of the furnace with the area of heat exchange up to 2 sq.m. To increase the heat transfer in the furnace under the slope, there are 2-3 pipes.
For the removal of combustion products, the furnaces use a chimney with an umbrella, also made of food steel with a height of 1.5-2 m.
To the capacity of the font, the immersion furnace is installed with the help of the attachment flanges and the flange.
