Installing the gas column
Installation of gas columns is regulated by these regulatory documents:
• SP 42-101-2003 "General provisions for the design and construction of gas distribution systems of metal and polyethylene pipes"
• SNiP 42-01-2002 GAS DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS.
In addition to regulatory documents, the proposed installation of a gas column is also subject to the following requirements:
• The room for installing the column must be ventilated
• The room in which the column is to be installed should have a volume of at least 7.5 m3.
In the case of full compliance with all requirements and an agreed project for the location of the gas column, you can proceed to install it. The installation of the column may depend on two factors: the column is already installed and requires its removal with replacement or a new column is installed.
Dismantling work
Dismantling works begin with the blocking of gas access. To do this, the valve at the end of the pipe closes. Then, using the swivel wrench, the hose fixing nut is loosened. After disconnection from the gas pipe, the hose is removed from the entry point.
Then the water supply system is disconnected. In most cases, the manufacturer provides cranes to disconnect from the water supply system. After disconnecting the column from the water supply, the connecting pipe from the chimney is disconnected. Thus, the column will be completely disconnected from all communications. Now the column can be removed from the fixture and begin to install a new one. Dismantling the old gas column in the bathroom or in the kitchen can be done by yourself.
The primary installation of the gas column is fixed by an act of registration by specialists in the gas sector. Therefore, it is preferable to install, connect and verify the operation of the system to be entrusted to specialists in the gas sector.
Connecting a new column
The connection of a new column starts with its installation on the work surface. On the wall, in the place of installation of the column, mark the fixing points. The height of the installation is calculated taking into account the location of the connecting pipe from the outlet of the column to the electrical outlet of 50 cm. (With a room height of 2.50 m).
After calculating the fixing points for the dowels, make holes for the fasteners and install the column. With the use of connecting hoses and pipes, connect the water outlet to the inlet of the gas column. The connection of the cold water tap to the column input, indicated in blue, is shown in the instruction manual of the gas column. Similarly, the hot water outlet is connected, indicated in red.
Then we check the tightness and working capacity of the column cranes.
Having convinced of the tightness of the gas and water connection, we establish a corrugation. The connecting flute is installed at the end of the column with one end, and the other end is inserted into the chimney flue outlet. The edges of the connecting corrugation are fixed.
Now you can adjust the temperature of the heated water according to the instructions in the operating instructions.
